“til our fingers decompose, keep my hands in yours”
Submit a photo where the subject is someone’s hand(s). Capture an emotion, show an activity, tell a story, the sky’s the limit as long as the hand is the focus. Find a way to make an “uninteresting” subject interesting!

Here we see the preserved skeletal remains of the Geoffrey's Spider Monkey playing among the preserved skeletal remains of the Saiga. These two animals would have never met in the world, the spider monkey living in the rainforests of Central America, and the Saiga living in the steppes of northern Asia. But in death these two mammalian friends can play til their fingers decompose.
Both skeletons are part of a private collection that is professionally maintained and obtained, all specimens were found dead or were animals from sanctuaries/zoos that had recently pasted. "Nothing died to be here".
If you dont know what a Saiga looks like, Google it, he's got a silly nose to keep him warm
“To The Stars”
’ll take the hit for the somewhat blurry nature of the hand, the idea and the opportunity were just too good to pass up and after many many attempts this is the clearest picture I could get without adding too much light to the photograph and obscuring the stars.
Taken on a certain recent trip to Vermont where the skies were the clearest I had ever seen in my life. You could see the band of the Milky Way with the naked eye. As soon as the prompt was announced I realized we had this trip coming up and I knew exactly the shot I wanted to do.
I’ve always loved the stars, the night, and just gazing, it’s as primal a form of as peacefulness can get. Wether it’s for a child, a friend, a family member, a significant other, or whomever else, there will always be someone pointing to the sky and showing what they can see.
some hands build houses, some heal wounds, and some hold the people they love. these hands make music, and that has always felt like another way of taking care of the world.
you guys should see the before photo, it’s very funny. But I wanted to play with lighting for this prompt! It’s one of my favorite things to have fun with in photos
Probably the activity I spend the most time while looking at my hands, so you should look too hey look its my hands
One of my favorite things to watch my husband do is play the guitar. I love the way his hands move. As soon as I read this prompt I knew this is what I wanted to use for my picture. I asked him to sit on the porch with his favorite guitar for the set up
lavender girl, take me back in your heart 🪻
caught this moment after a yoga class in a lavender field, we were allowed to walk through the field afterwards and the owner encouraged us to smell and feel the lavender growing, it was so peaceful and calming and I tried to capture that feeling as my friend was gently feeling the lavender plants 💜 and shout out to the little bee friend that wanted to pose for the picture 🐝
"I just love the sky"
I think I might try to recreate this one later. One of the hardest things with this photo league is timing for me. Trying to time the vision with the weather and the competition time is rough but I also bring it on myself for being in love with the sky.
~so i put my hands up, they’re playin’ my song. the butterflies fly away~
something intrinsically human to, overcome by melody, put our hands up like we can capture the sound in our palms
